And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country – a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
Next Tuesday (March 24th) is a Women’s Midweek (women only). Karolynn Faulkner will be teaching a lesson called Our God is an Awesome God.
This upcoming Tuesday (March 17th) is an all-together midweek. Join us at 7:30 for a lesson by Olumide Faulkner.
Calling all disciples!
It’s so easy today to spend the great majority of our time looking to our own interests. From Old Testament to New one of the things God is consistently desiring for his people is that they adopt his own heart to also look to the interest of others.
For some time now we’ve talked about serving in the community. The moment is finally here.
This coming Saturday March 21st (next week) we have an opportunity to serve as a ministry through an organization called “Ray of Hope”. We’ve been asked to both prepare and serve lunch to about 160 people who are disadvantaged, marginalized or troubled.
We’ll have to begin preparing the food around 9 am in order to be ready to serve for lunch. Serving the food and cleaning up will run till about 2 pm.
It will be hard to pull this off with only a handful but a strong turnout will give us all the hands we need to meet the need. If you are able to help, please RSVP.
